Why I Love It: Works that explore the relationship between Gamor and Nebula are my most favorite works - they're both so epically fucked up and screwed over, and so intrisically tied to one another with binds that neither is willing to sever, and watching their relationship is like watching video of solar flares - gorgeous, and also terrifying if you think about it. I adore the way Groot is the mediator here - he has something that Nebula wants - be it the regenerative powers of plants, or the far less volatile interactions with Gamora - and how he helps coaxe this new, fragile, budding thing between the sisters. (Peter's great, too - the voice of reason, for once, in the face of ASSASSIN TWINS POWERS ACTIVATE. But I'm here 120% for the Gamora-Nebula gorgeousness.) As for music, the lyrics "under the blacklight/out in the garden/into the pale moon/i'll be waiting" pretty accurately explain the growing (heh - plant pun) ceasefire-cum-trustfall that is Gamora and Nebula aboard the Milano. Excelent job, Rilo Kiley.
