I've been putting the finishing touches on my Loki costume (EEEEEEE NEW YORK COMIC CON IS ON SUNDAY AND I'MMA DRESS UP ALL FAAAANCY), and while I wait for the nail polish to dry on my horns, I thought I'd post some podfic.
You know, as you do.
Nova, written by icarus_chained (who has BLANKET PERMISSION TO PODFIC, and a brain full of wonders), is a Loki story. And a Tony story. And an End Of The World, We're All Broken In Interesting Ways, If I'm Going Down You're Coming Down With Me, story of wonders and terrifying humor. It's the embodiment of my darkest Loki And Tony Are The Same Kind Of Crazy feelings. I subscribe to the Tony Came Back Broken And He Never Actually Healed school of thought, and Nova reads like icarus_chained took that Tony right from my head for me to read aloud. It's just.... this is the kind of No Win Scenario that the Kobayashi Maru was supposed to simulate, and between Tony and Loki, there's an epic Fuck You, UNIVERSE of the situation. Sure, everyone dies.... but Loki and Tony still pull a win over their would-be conquerors' noses. It's the best kind of KILL 'EM ALL fic, because Tony really IS that broken and damaged and Loki really IS that kind of devious even in defeat and everything is lovely and gritty and terrible at the same time.
