AMP13: A Study In Catch-Up Posts
I'm crying a little on the inside, because I haven't posted any of these podfics to the amplificathon comm yet for points - and crossposting is, despite it's rather monotonous nature, the bane of my existence. Also, it's less than three weeks to the end of the challenge, and my pointslessness is sad.
But, I have some podfic to share with everyone! And another few more nights to ignore my crossposting duties.
Let's start off with some dark'n'dirty NCIS fic - Tony Dinozzo, my very favorite, as a serial killer. In two different stories, no less!
Style, by copperbadge (who is also
sam_storyteller, who has Blanket Permission to Podfic), is a Dexter-NCIS crossover. Dexter and Tony bond over killing people who deserve it. My favorite part? When Tony mentioned he'd been questioned for murder on three different occasions, but none of them were his!

And then there's Good Boy, also by copperbadge, where Tony is a serial killer who's aided and restrained by Gibbs. This one was just.... gorgeous. I loved the bits with Abby's artwork, and how Tony's photographs of the crime scenes were just as visceral to him as the kills themselves. And the relationship he has with Gibbs - how Gibbs holds his leash, and what that says about the kind of man Gibbs is in this universe - was shiveringly wonderful. A Handful of Starlight, written by Sister_Wolf (who has Blanket Permission to Podfic, and is currently in the middle of writing my new favorite fem!Nori/Dwalin fic of excitement and deception and hidden knives....can I call dibs on podficcing a story that hasn't been finished yet?) is a Star Trek Reboot-Stargate: Atlantis crossover, featuring Ronon and Gaila. It's an amuse bouche of creation myths, and at the same time punches you in the heart with Ronon-feelings.

closer than you think, written by sospes, is a post-Battle of Five Armies Hobbit fic where EVERYONE LIVES! And then Thorin has a bonding moment with Thranduil, over the perils of parenting when it comes to archers. And yeah, it's not like they're ever going to be best friends or anything, but this shining moment of understanding between Thorin and Thranduil is beautiful to behold.

Random Variables, written by Sister_Wolf, is a DCU-SGA crossoverfic of improbable pairings: Kon-El, meet Ronon Dex. Nah, but Kon's internal monologue is PRICELESS, and I had such a fun time voicing that one line about Rodney's reactions. Enjoy!

Red Like Roses, written by littlemousling, is the Panic! at the Disco panties!kink story I didn't know my life was missing 'til I read it last summer. And it's not just kinky sexy nakedtimes, either! In fact, things start off in a markedly non-nakedtimes direction. I loved Spencer in this story - how he just wanted to share this thing with Brendon, not as a joke but as a way of broadening Brendon's horizons - and then, how he's willing to be vulneralbe himself so that Brendon will feel less so..... ugh, my heart. Plus, red lacy panties! You do not KNOW the number of pairs of underwear I looked at, to find the perfect picture for this podfic's coverart.

for the sea like navy men, written by pprfaith, is an adorably-lovely-yet-angsty-yet-lovelier-still Thor/Buffy crossover. With bonus woke-up-married-ness! Buffy's lines are absolutely hilarious, and Loki's brain is a bag of cats who just want to be loved (he's the God of Lies - how else was he going to propose?) and I pretty much wanted to clap my hands throughout this entire story. The image of Lady Sif: Wedding Planner will never leave my brain, either.

The League of Fairly Unusual Gentlemen, written by kellifer_fic, has been on my list of Things To Podfic For Amplificathon for ages - for one thing, it's a Stargate: Atlantis/Stargate: SG-1/Supernatural/Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel: the Series crossover. For another, it's hilarious! Everyone is awesome, and nothing hurts in this story of the biggest, baddest, most out-there assignment Colonel Mitchell could ask for (that isn't SG1, sorry buddy). I used the song, "Everyboody Needs Somebody", by China Forbes, as Intro/Outro music - Mitchell just wants to be LOVED! He wants to BELONG! He needs a TEAM! ....just, maybe not this team. They seem kind of crazy.

Call It a Hunch, written by Sister_Wolf, is a due South/X-Men movie'verse crossover. Now, I've never seen due South, or know much more than there's a Canadian mountie and some cops(?), but I do know that I love seeing people freak out for the first time they see Wolverine at his most badass and violent. So....here, have a couple minutes of hilarious freak-outs.

than all the gold under the ground, written by sospes, is a Hobbit fic that takes place after Thorin's Company has retaken Erebor (but before Thorin goes crazy). Kili is pondering ALL THE TREASURES, and then he realizes that FILI MATCHES ALL THE TREASURE, and then there is some TREASURING happening ON TOP OF THE TREASURE, if you know what I mean. Yup, gold-themed porn. Enjoy.

Five Times Dean And Alec... is a Dark Angel/Supernatural crossover, written by Sister_Wolf. Now, I know that the drabble is an art form of concise storytelling, but I would give at least my pinky toe to read a thousand more words of ANY of these AUs. And that last one? Gah! Punch me in my season one brotherhood feels, why don't you?

boys will be boys, written by minor_fifth, is a Teen Wolf futurefic that deals with the most dreaded and fearsome thing an adult can face: the Parent-Teacher Conference. Of course, Derek and Stiles are no mere members of the PTA, and of COURSE Stiles is one to back-talk......

And this one isn't technically a crossover, but it's the biggest thing I've made for AMP13, and it DOES reference two separate fandoms, so I'm ruling that it gets it's own post.
turn off the lights and i'll glow, written by novembersmith (who has Blanket Permission to Podfic. Yay!), is the Teen Wolf/Rise of the Guardians fusion fic I would've left the theater desperately wanting... if I hadn't already been attempting to walk and type out all my Bandom/Rise of the Guardian plotbunnies on my phone, at the time. It's just SO happy-making, and heart-clenching, and suspense-building, and smile-bringing, and wonderful all over. I pretty much spilled all my joy at this story into my reader's notes at the end of this podfic, so there's that, too. Love love love this story - it's actually a Reverse Big Bang fic, so you should make an effort to check out the art that inspired it, as well.
