I found out on Saturday morning why Hercules had called battle stations last week. We have a new roaming dog in the neighborhood. He is a sweet, young hound dog that is about the same height as Cleo and about 2/3 her weight. For lack of a known name, I'm calling him Buddy. This morning brought with it another bear visit. The front trash was strewn across the walkway and some of it was missing. The pole for the bird feeder was down and the feeder was missing. (I found it while on my way to my car, smashed to pieces behind the truck.) The dog was fascinated by the front yard and a little disappointed when I picked up ( Read more... )

The lovely Sunday spring evening was mostly me and my shovel and happy times in the dirt. ( gardening! )

Today was the first day that the dog agreed to get in my car - without being on a leash - since I took her for knee surgery last fall.

It's a beautiful, sunny day out on the two feet of snow that we got.

It's been pretty darn cold lately. It was another 8-degree morning today. I'm very glad that almost everyone has at least one bucket that doesn't freeze. And the baby boys don't seem to mind the personalized delivery of warm water.
