The General Election is tomorrow (well today as it's past midnight) and you'd barely notice it round here. Before we moved in, about a month ago, we lived in a marginal constituency and boy I can tell we're in a safe one now. No door-to-door canvassing and the only leaflets dropping on my mat are from the Lib Dems and UKIP. Previous election days would have all the parties calling, sometimes several times a day on the actual day, checking to see if we'd voted. There were two half hearted canvassers out today, neither of which came anywhere near me. I was almost disappointed as I had my brush-off all prepared - I'm still registered to vote at my old address. So that's where I'm headed tomorrow, off to cast my vote where it might make a difference for the last time and to catch up with friends afterwards, to find out what's been going on since we moved away.
