The title says it all really, and yet again I haven't posted for ages. I have a least re-started Forgotten Voices of the Blitz so I am feeling better about that.
I have now got up to episode 5 of The Pacific, and predictably am enjoying it more as I am finding it easier to identify the characters. And then they introduce a whole bunch of new ones. I found the beach landing more horrific that in Saving Private Ryan, this seemed more intimate somehow, very personal, I did not find it easy watching. Leaving behind the serious stuff I am worried that we will now see much less of Team Leckie, I've grown very fond of them. The scene where Leckie returns was adorable, Hoosier looked so happy that he didn't know what to do with himself. And we got another Runner-asleep-under-a-blanket scene which I am not complaining about. In the last few episodes he does appear to be either smoking or sleeping. If he survives long enough surely it's only a matter of time before he does them simultaneously.
Last night I caught up on the Dr Who in the Blitz episode. It was diverting, more entertaining for the little touches of humour than the strength of the story. Is it wrong to say that the khaki dalek was oddly appealing?. "Would. You. Like. A. Cup. Of. Tea?" There's got to be an icon in there somewhere. I am also bound to enjoy anything with Jammy Dodger references and bonus Spitfires.
