The Red Sox are going to call up Justin Masterson to pitch tomorrow's afternoon game. The 22-year-old Masterson's made four starts at Double-A Portland this year. In 19 innings of work he has an ERA of 0.95 and a WHIP of 1.00 with 23 strikeouts in 19 innings.

The Red Sox haven't shown much interest in Miguel Cabrera. Today, the Boston Globe, speculated that this could be because they're saving their players for Johan Santana or Dan Haren, both of which have a good chance of being made available this season. This isn't a very substantial rumor but I thought it would allow for some offseason fun.
