Today was planting day. I planted 7 rectangular window-box type pots, 3 single plant pots and 4 large multi-plant pots. I also set up the "fountain" in the front yard. I still have 13 more plants to pot, all of which will probably be single plant pots. But we rain out of potting soil. Used up 5 cu feet (2.5 large bags) of potting soil. And we have ( Read more... )

It was a nice day today, kinda of chilly in the morning but it warmed up to 70 in the early afternoon. Had breakfast (no oatmeal today) and went out for errands. Our lineup, check out the subdivision highlighted in the paper, Cider Hills in SW Waukesha, out past where Pam's old condo was. Saturday was some reading, and a bunch of errands. I am on the hunt for some flower bulbs to force at work. We looked at Ace Hardware (no luck), Hawks Nursery. 1. I an grateful that I have finished my 2012 Taxes! The Fed's have been e-filed, and the State has been completed, but not yet e-filed. I use Turbo Tax and they want you to pay an extra $20 to file the state for you. Wisconsin has a free e-file service, so I'll just copy the numbers over to it. But on another day.

Quickity quick post since its way past my bed time. Disaster of the back porch window boxes (both full of mixed coleus). Something happened today and the top box fell into the lower box, causing mayhem and crushing and massive breakage. When I got home from work I almost cried. I get way, way too attached to my plants. Since my last post, up through today we had major thunderstorms come through every night. No storm chasing because everything happened after dark. We lost power a few times, usually in the middle of the night. We got a LOT of rain. IN the last 7 days we've had over 3 inches.
