Lovely Stargate and Battlestar Galactica news I found at gateworld.net. Had me almost as excited as learning about Hyde doing more tour dates and getting my Advent Children DVD. (Ok so I shamelessly mentioned him once..sue me!)

Firstly, a potential new BSG spin-off show called "Caprica". This is set 50 years in the past prior to the events in BSG. The network's description of the series:

The people of the Twelve Colonies are at peace and living in a society not unlike our own, but where high-technology has changed the lives of virtually everyone for the better. But a startling breakthrough in robotics is about to occur, one that will bring to life the age-old dream of marrying artificial intelligence with a mechanical body to create the first living robot -- a Cylon. Following the lives of two families, the Graystones and the Adamas (the family of William Adama, who will one day become the commander of the Battlestar Galactica) Caprica weaves corporate intrigue, techno-action and sexual politics into television's first science fiction family saga.

*wonders if the ancestors of Lee Adama are as hot and have those massive, well toned arms.*

Secondly, RDA is BACK on Stargate SG-1!! Woot! Well for about five episodes of Season Ten. He'll first appear in the episode "200". This is the 200th episode of Stargate SG-1, and falls exactly 100 episodes after the episode "Wormhole Extreme". (I so detest that episode. I think it's Martin..I don't like him.)

The show's former leading man will also guest star on Stargate Atlantis in Season Three, and will appear in additional episodes of SG-1's tenth year. Anderson told his official Web site that he will appear in a total of five episodes this year. He was asked to appear in the 200th episode, and during negotiations offered to do a few more if the writers wanted to use his character to tie up any loose ends.

The show's producers also told GateWorld that Anderson's appearance in the episode will be substantial, and not a brief cameo as he did in Season Nine's "Avalon, Part 1" and "Origin." Hell yeah! Give us some RDA goodiness!

So does this mean the shippers of Jack/Sam (me! me! me!) will finally get to see some more hints as to their relationship? I so hope so!

And finally, something that ties in to Firefly.

Stargate SG-1 has its new big-bad for Season Ten. Actress Morena Baccarin has been cast as the adult version of Adria, Vala's daughter who was sired by the evil Ori to lead their bloody crusade in our galaxy.

So she will be the third Firefly actor to guest on a Stargate show. Very cool. I can't wait to see her be a bad ass baddie! We've all seen her be sweet and proper, with a little anger now and then. But now she gets to be the evil. teehee!

And of course Claudia Black is now joining the SG-1 cast as a regular for the new season. Which I'm sure most of you know by now. *hearts Claudia*
