Car Woes Part II
Well talked to the folks at Dale and Ron's apparently I missed on my diagnosis of the problem with the car - it was the starter. Good News : They will have it done today (yeah!) Bad News: It will cost $250 - yikes - that plus tow takes the total cost of repairs up to $300. Ouch! We can handle it (Thank God Pay Day week) but still its a bit of sticker shock.
Part of me is lecturing myself on how can I feel frustrated / pissed when I spent $220 on a camera last week??? The other part of me is trying to think of how I can work things to make sure Gina and I have more then enough for Fest and all that. Its just that doing Fest is an expensive proposition - Gas to get there and back is gonna be at least $80 bucks, hotel room for 3 nights is gonna run about $300 - Food is gonna be $150 at least - probable more. Add medication costs (which are temporary blivets - I get re inversed for them but still got keep them in mind) and regular bills and it can be a little nerve wracking.
But Fest always is a little nerve wracking because of the costs / time involved and I know we alway spend more then I planned and I know I won't really regret the costs cause they are always for a good reason - but I begin to wonder am I getting to old for this?? Is this really wise for us to do??
But I know we are committed to doing it this time - and probably for a few years more. So I take a deep breath, eat a few peanut M&Ms (I know - not so good for blood sugar but they taste so good and I was a little depressed to be honest) and solider on.
This will make doing a little grocery run for more diet coke and getting Gina to knitting class on Wednesday a whole lot easier. Not to mention prepping for dinner guests on Thursday. Focus on the positive and make things happen.
On a positive note a site called Xdrive is pretty cool - Store up to 5 Gb of data on the internet - accessible by browser and sharable - also can download applet for automatic backup of critical file.
Work is getting REALLY busy but it seems there is a serious push for Tele-commuting for the department. While this wouldn't have helped me today - its something to keep in mind.
Also getting interested and ready for a little cyberpunk 2020 gaming - not sure what I'll play just yet - try and get a feel for what the party needs most and then fill that need.
