An update finally

Okay this is what has happend in July,

Saw Transformers and Harry Potter movies. Transformers was ~okay~ not OMG and not WTF - just okay. HP was a pretty good synopsis of a very large book. Sad in some ways in how much they had to leave out. Farewell Gary Oldman as Sirus Black - we hardly got to see you. Of the two movies I liked HP better. I have been told that Gina and I need to go see Ratatooie - appartently I resemble a character in the movie.

We got and I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows...in one day. Hey I'm a fast reader and it was a page turner. (I did NOT skip to the end to see if Harry lived - read it cover to cover.) I was glad to see JK give an interview and explain a little more about the ending (i.e. some things she kinda left out)

Started having problems with my shoulder and went in - and have been in Physical Theraphy 3 times a week for the last few weeks. Well I go in tuesday morning for a final evaluation and it all goes well that will be the end of that - as long as I keep up with the stretches. I NEED to get into a gym.

Work has been surprisingly busy. July is usually a slow month. Not boding so well for August when the seamester starts and things REALLY hit the fan.

Part of the busy making at work is that we are ***FINALLY*** getting new office furniture and cubicle stuff. Also got a new workstation and I get to check out the old workstation as a system to work from home with. The Finally part comes from the fact we have been waiting for this stuff for about 3? years now.

So today has been busy packing up the last bits of stuff in my cuble (aside of the system I am writing this from).

For the coming weekend - woooo lots of work but thing that needs to be done - help Rob and Shan move, finish lawn - even perfect my carrot cake. using the Alton Brown Carrot Cake recipe with some extras thrown in.

Taking next week off to (A) Celebrate Gina's Birthday and (B) help Rob and Shan with the move out / move in.

Might even get a chance to get to a few things at home. I have been planning to redo the cables under my desk. using the life hacker idea of a peg board plus zip ties to move the power strips, cable modem, NAT and other stuff up off the floor. Even got some hooks to put along the bottomof the desk so I can hang the cables in nice bundles above the floor.

On less happy note I think the motherboard in my system is dying. I have been having lockups that occur more and more often. Usually it happened in game, with an occompaning graphic glitch. Sometimes I can go for hours without a problem, other times I get 5 minutes in game between the lock ups.
Ran a memory test (might run some more) but they came up clear. Put in a new temporary video card - still happening. So aside of a CPU (very doubtful) or a harddrive (unlikely) its a motherboard issue. Still looking at how to do some more tests to be sure.

So I am looking at replacing it - which is sad cause its been a great motherboard for 3+ years now. I can't even find them in stock to buy an exact replacement. Annoying that I have to invest more into this system just when I was planning to upgrade. Not to mention the joys of doing a motherboard swap...

What is really a gritch right now is that Patch 10 has come out for City of Heroes / City of Villians and it REALLY cool. Not to mention beta testing I was hoping to do.

So all in all life goes on

moving, computer system, movies, health, games
