It started with all the small, generally unnoticed things - the sudden shortage of all things red, pink and purple in the office supplies stories and the clothes shops, the discreet signs with the word 'SALE' plastered on candy and chocolate stores. It was followed by off-hand mentions on television stores, and assignments for the kids in school involving cutting out/drawing/penciling in hearts of all sizes. Talk in places all around the city soon followed - at bus stops, in school corridors, around the water dispensers and coffee machines of various offices. Plans were made. Couples gushed over possibilities.
Valentine's Day was less than a day away, and it appeared as though Namimori City was going to go in full swing to celebrate it, as always. What that meant for the men and women of the industry, however, was completely up to them.
