He felt the poison running through his veins, sapping his strength, no antidote in existence. It took all his concentration to set the coordinates. When the TARDIS materialized, he dragged himself outside, slumped against the door, waited. He hoped he had enough time left, the cold burning sensation intensifying every moment.
Finally, he saw what he'd come here for. A flash of carefree blonde in the sunlight, familiar pink hoodie and jeans were his last vision before his eyes closed. Lucky number thirteen, the end of the Time Lords. No second chances. Tomorrow, her world would change. Today, his died.
