Three very puffy former vice presidents -- Quayle, Mondale and Gore -- just arrived at the Inauguration platform, with their wives. The wives look good. Major water retention problems going on with the fellows though.

Barack Obama is a beautiful man for these times.
He glows with youth, confidence, new possibilities.
Let's not forget though who bought and paid for him.

Maybe he'll overcome his corporate masters
Maybe he'll reach across the aisle and pull the saints of the patrician class into a new populist realpolitik that says plainly that wealth was redistributed ( Read more... )

In his concession speech, McCain said what was necessary to minimize the degree of blame he'll take when some nut tries to kill Obama.
McCain and Palin whipped the crazies into a frenzy.
They've got a lot more work to do to even begin to repair the damage of all the hate and lies.
