Some Alan Davies love

I might just be overdosing on the man at the moment.  Last night's 'Show Me The Funny' was my favourite of the series so far, although I have no idea how Cole and Stuart won the challenge and therefore got to decide the running order.  I thought Tiff's routine was brilliant and pretty clever, so it was a shame the kids didn't go for it so much.  Pat Monahan did well, didn't he?  I like him so much more on this than I did when I saw him - I'm kind of gunning for him to win.  Although, on the flip side, the more I see of Kate Copstick, the less I like her.  Her comments to Cole last night seemed needlessly cruel, especially in contrast with Alan's con-crit and the lovely Ross Noble's encouragement.

I might have watched a little bit of the H series of 'QI' (what would I do without Dave?), although I was out all evening and only made it home in time to catch the last ten minutes.  Fail.  But, you know, Alan and all that.

Also, spotted Alan Davies's book in my library the other day, 'My Favourite People And Me:1978-1988', and just started it this morning.  I didn't know he'd ever written a book. I like it so far.

Oh, and I'm trying to figure out my tagging system.  I'm slightly OCD when it comed to tags.  Does Alan Davies need his own tag?  Or should he fall under 'comedians'?  But then, Charlie Brooker gets his own tag.  Even Frankie Boyle gets his own tag, and I definitely like Alan Davies a hundred times more than I like him nowadays.

One last unrelated thing: Benjamin Francis Leftwich, anyone? How beautiful is 'Last Smoke Before The Snowstorm'?  It's not just the title, but this evokes cold, sparkling days in midwinter, with frost on the grass and spiders' webs coated in dew.  I have half a mind to buy it and save it til November.  If Alessi's Ark is my summer dream-pop fix, then BFL can be my winter one.  If you like Fleet Foxes, but find them a bit baroque and a bit 'trying too hard', or poetry, or acousticy folk in any way, you'll like 'LSBTS'.
