Got home from work Tuesday evening to find that my Internet and phone service were completely out. After a not-terribly-long-but-very-annoying wait, I got through to Verizon (thank heaven for cell phones!) to report it. A reset didn't work, so they scheduled a technician for this morning. If I hadn't already definitely decided to move next December when my lease is up, this would push me over the edge: My stupid, f---ing FIOS is f---ing beeping a-f---ing-GAIN.

So far everything works, but I need to call them. They had better not try to charge me for the service appointment.

The hopefully-final word on my FiOS phone/internet connection: The tech showed up this morning for my repair appointment, coincidentally (or not) the guy who installed it in the first place. He said that beeping means battery issues, probably caused by a loose connection. So he tightened everything. Took him less than five minutes ( Read more... )

The FiOS tech showed up about 9:30; it then took him about four hours to get everything set up, including two hours in the middle when he disappeared down the street to make connections.
