Unexpected minor car trouble made me a bit late for work this morning. On the up side, my upcoming inspection is now done. And I did make it to the 9:30 staff meeting on time.

Eek! Raining since last night through tomorrow morning. Which wouldn't be so bad, but we're expecting as much as 2-3 inches tonight. Hopefully not between 9:00 and 9:30, when I'm going to be driving home. Eek!

The forecast kept getting worse, from 4-8" of snow today/tonight (as of yesterday afternoon) to 7-15" total (as of right now). This morning, I planned to leave work a bit early, after I got off the desk at 4:00. By lunchtime, I was wanting to leave earlier than that. When I move inland out of the flood zone later this year, it will be the first time, ever, that I have lived more than about two miles from work. Yesterday: Bridge goes up as I'm driving to work. Bridge gets stuck. Police eventually re-route traffic over other span. I get to work 35 minutes late, an hour after first arriving at the bridge (5 minutes from my job...). Taking the alternate route, over the other bridge, would have added another half hour to the commute ( Read more... )
