I live in a turbo-capitalist society, so a lot of demeaning media wank kind of goes over my head - the kind of advertising aimed at young women and girls especially. But my stomach pretty much dropped last week when I opened the free paper to
this particular piece of fucked-up fuckery
on the bus on my way into college. I know I really shouldn't be shocked, but I am. I'm still naive enough to be shocked by this, not to mention sickened. I don't know whether I'm my horrified by the concept in general, or the fact that their rep can pass if off as 'harmless, tongue-in-cheek entertainment'. Surely, no-one out there truly believes this is any sort of harmless? This guy is lying, right? He doesn't actually think that?
