Fair warning for iPhone5 owners

Mar 05, 2013 18:08

Dear iPhone5 owners,

If you do not turn off your GROUP MMS setting, then every time you respond to a group text message, your response will be sent to everyone on the original distribution list. Since I don't have unlimited text messaging on my phone, your response may cost me money. Therefore, if I get a response from you that is not directed to me, I will list your phone number on Amway's 'Opportunity Zone' blog.

I don't own a SmartPhone, and I really, really don't want one. But I have a feeling that sometime in the near future, I will be forced into getting one in the same way I was forced into getting a credit card. There will be things that you just can't do without a SmartPhone, because the conventional methods will be discontinued.

I got my first credit card in 2000, because I needed to rent cars. Car rental without a credit card was cumbersome enough to be considered impossible back then.

Similarly, cell phones have become a necessity as pay phones have disappeared. Which still sucks, because calls in a phone booth in the 1970s were much more audible than they are today with a cell. Especially at a train station. Or anywhere with wind.

Technology. I hate it.
