And some people already have the books through stores or Amazon. Needless to say, I will be getting my copy of the three corebooks next time I'm at Barnes and Noble. There's plenty of forum bitching about what's been changed and what hasn't, but then again, it was like that with just about every new edition, and I'm taking the tack of seeing for myself what the new edition is like before voicing any complaints about its quality.
As for creating characters, I have several ideas on board for the new edition, but the biggest one is an attempt to recreate Alastor, one of my older warrior characters, as 4E should be able to do him justice with the new martial powers that Wizards is giving the Fighter. True, he's probably not going to be up to his full badass potential at first level, but he should at least be able to wipe the floor with the minion enemies.
