Ok so I guess I left off on the Sunday the 12th....we went out at 4AM-6AM. It was cold and windy so the waves were choppy once again. Found 11 total on both Sandy Point and Morris Cove. Very disappointing. But at least we saved a bunch that were stuck on their backs from the waves. Well I was supposed to go out on the boat at noon but I didn't go due to me fainting at my dorm around 8 and going to the hospital. Not fun folks. But Gabe went on the boat and they put out 10 more sonar tags and tagged about 80 on the boat..totally pointless but it gives the other people on the boat something to do.
So Dr. Mattei was worried about me and let me take Tuesday off and even offered to let me go home the rest of the week. She really is a generous lady. You should shoot me if I say anything mean about her. I have also been in desperate need of money as of lately ($25 bucks in my checking account!!) So she cut me a personal check for $500!! Since the grant isn't going through to payroll until next week. You should have seen the look of relief on my face. God ALWAYS come through when you leave the choice to him. Remember that. Especially since we agreed on $300. She must trust me to pay her back oncce I get the grant money in. Awesome. :)
So today was a LOOOONG day 10-5. Went to Long Warf where we met up with Mattei and another photographer. Was pretty funny considering they decided to go out on a sand bar and take pics when the tide was rapidly coming in! I might be in a pic this time..probably not..but maybe my arms will be! haha. So they were still taking pics when me and Guy were like yeah we should head back to the beach. We waded through knee high water. Lucky I had on my big ugly green boots. :-P
At Sandy Point we split up into 2 goups; me & Guy and Gabe & Botton. I ragged on Gabe because Dr Botton hand picked Gabe. hahaha. And Gabe was like shoot me afterwards, he's a nice guy but he wouldn't stop talking!! And me & Guy tagged 82 in just this one area at the very point. INSANITY. But I got some cool pics with my camera. We found TONS of males coming ashore. And Gabe and Botton found the same thing further down the beach. But the stupid male crabs were trying to mate with this ginormous rock they thought was a female. So funny. And they found two males trying to mate. Haha They so crazy.
I'm very tired and looking forward to going home on Friday and taking a break. I miss everyone. And I hate feeling sick still...doctor's visit again. Uck.
