Just when I thought it was safe to answer the phone...I see "Humane Society" on the caller id. Figured they were calling to check on Henrietta and Muffin. WRONG! Seems a woman about 6 blocks from here called Animal Control this morning; she saw a dog killing its pups, and ran over to save them. She managed to save 2 out of 8. Animal rescue can be draining, emotionally, physically, and certainly financially, but every now and then a day comes along that makes it all worth it. Today was one of those.
