Here's another Ninth Doctor story I like, this one with Jack and Rose. The dialogue in this makes me mourn the dynamic trio...good times. The flavor of the Farscape 'verse is surprisingly harmonious with the Doctor Who universe.

Here's a Doctor Who/Torchwood crossover as a bonus, because I felt the need for some Nine. (Despite how adorable Ten is, not to mention how pretty he is with the Master, for me, Nine is the hotness.) Pre post implied slash. This story evokes the canon melancholia in this universe, and the fierce anger we sometimes saw in Nine.

This story from Jack's POV is an interesting look at how he might have changed during his early travels with Rose and the Ninth Doctor. I can buy Jack being seduced by their offer of companionship and how he might have been torn by distrust and the impulse to use them for his own purposes.

Saturday was packed: before the hockey challenge I had media viewing with Jess and her b.f., with homemade quiche (I can't believe J cooked! *g*) and mimosas. We watched 7 (!!) episodes of season 2 Doctor Who. I do find Nine sexier, and I miss him, but Ten is a doll. I love the edge Ten exhibits. Jack takes Rose and the Doctor on a little vacation. I really liked the Doctor's enthusiasm in this brief story, and the bit at the end when the reader finds out more about Jack.

I was in the mood for a Ninth Doctor adventure, and this story set in the 1950s hit the spot. Rose's decisiveness shines in this tale.

Sometimes you come across a story that speaks to the heart. The last one that hit me like that was synedochic's SGA story "Freedom's Just Another Word for Nothing Left to Lose".
