one year later
It feels like I was just posting last year's compilation.
Well. This one isn't chronological, as I have been doing for a few years, but I rather wanted this year's to end on a high note. I've been melancholy, I think, on the whole - a lot of things have ended that I wished would never end. But I never had any illusions that I could hold onto them, so the ending is just... what it is.
Time to give a new year and a new goal my best shot. I'm ready for this.
Pardon if I post videos of slideshows, lyrics, static backgrounds, etc. I generally don't watch music videos and don't like how they color my own interpretation of a song, so I'm not posting official videos here unless I love them for their own sake (like OK Go's choreography).

2. One Will Fall By The Way - The Stand, W.G. Snuffy Walden - the track on the playlist is a different arrangement of this small piece of music, but I can't find the actual score anywhere, so...

5. 10538 Overture - Electric Light Orchestra
6. All Along the Watchtower - Bear McCreary via Bob Dylan. Kara Remembers and Gaeta's Lament just barely missed the cut.
7. Walk Unafraid - R.E.M. Quite a lot of R.E.M. songs didn't make the cut, by a hair each. I wish I could find the studio recording, because TBH I don't care for Stipe live and this is full of electronic & piano embellishments, plus a faster tempo, that detract from the quiet defiance that I really love about this entire album.

9. Losing True - The Roches
10. Gulf War Song - Moxy Fruvous. Don't mind the video, there isn't a static one to be found.
11. What's in the Middle - The Bird and the Bee
12. O the Deed - Nethers. Cannot be found without extensive piracy. Here you can listen to a 30 second sample.
13. A Pillar of Salt - The Thermals. I don't mind this video. They're a bunch of dorks and the paint-throwing looks like SO MUCH FUN. XD Plus the chick looks alarmingly like my awesome Spanish professor. (I wear my arms out doing epic air drumming to this at top volume as often as possible. It's good for the soul.)
