I've been pretty productive this week. Just so we're clear, my week starts on Sunday, but only for purposes of this post. Most of the time it starts on Monday.
Ordered graduation pics. Yes, these are pics from my graduation a year ago. I ordered 6 pics and a plaque. I was only going to order 2 and a plaque, but MG said that one of my aunts might want a pic. And since if you buy one for one relative, you really have to buy one for them all, I ordered 6 more. It's quite a rip-off, but I'll be glad to have the pics.
Filled out my 2007-2008 Renewal FAFSA and 2008-2009 FAFSA. My head hurt after filling these out, mainly because I was tired and couldn't these people understand that I had no dependents, didn't have children, didn't receive any financial help, etc? Why can't they default in 0 for all the boxes and then I can manually change it? My EFC doubled from 0708 to 0809, which was interesting. Yes, I did get a raise, but my salary didn't double! Why would my EFC double? Oh well. I was amused that their web designers couldn't seem to decide which information they wanted to display as straight text, and which information they wanted to display as asterisks. For example, on the renewal page, my Soc, DOB, PIN, and password were displayed as asterisks. But on the new page, the only item that was displayed with asterisks was my password. When I logged back into my renewal, my SOC, DOB, and password were displayed as straight text, but my mothers maiden name was displayed as asterisks. I was tempted to start emailing them, because that's easy QA. You don't even have to click items multiple times while holding down a special key to see that something's not quite right. You just fill out the page as is. But I refrained. Maybe one day I'll work for the government and will test some things for them. Then I can tell them they need to look at the FAFSA page again.
Called Verizon to find out if we could cancel my mom's line without paying a penalty. Answer - yes. In fact, there are 3 options, and none of them involve a penalty.
Sent out the Verizon Bill to my dad and brothers. I'm notorious for not doing this, and sometimes they'll send me emails asking if I could do the bill. I did think I did this a few months ago, but it turns out I didn't. I also looked at our minute and text trends to see if we could decrease our shared minutes (1400) and we can't since the next lowest minute amount is 700. What happened to the 1000 minute plan? There's only 3 of us, but we average about 500 minutes and have gone over 700 minutes in the past 2 months. Oh well.
Did laundry. Yay for clean clothes and towels. Now if I could just fold the clothes and towels and put them away.
Called a broker to set up a meeting. It went straight to VM and he called back as I was getting out of the car to go to the store. I didn't have my calendar in front of me, nor did I really have time to talk, so I ignored it. I do think he thinks I'm someone else, though. There was another woman at the dinner where we met, and she was very dynamic, talked a lot, and said she didn't want to talk to him till July. So in the past 2 VMs he's left, he's mentioned that he knows I didn't want to talk till July (false - let's talk now) and that he got my VM last week (I didn't leave him one). So meeting him in person (again) should be interesting.
Read pages 1 and 2 of my homework. Of course, I was watching My Fair Lady while I was supposed to be reading, and My Fair Lady won, but at least I took care of 2 pages. Hopefully 2 pages soon turns into 2 chapters.
Dropped the last of my mom's clothes off at a friends house. I ended up staying there close to an hour talking, but it was really nice to be there. I love their family, and being around a bunch of kids reminds me of what family life is like. Kids running in and out of the house, not a moments peace in a conversation, children pleading to get their way, even though they know its futile. Ah yes, family life. At one point the mom said to me, "Just wait till you have kids," or something like that and the dad said, "Don't curse her!" It was great. I also got to see my brother, which was nice.
