We had a company wide meeting the other day. The CEO announced that he hired a new VP, and his main base is going to be in Akron. He currently resides in Arizona, and will be commuting up here. Yeah, commuting from Arizona to Akron sounds like fun to me. The CEO went on to say "There are a few of us who commute great distances (California, Arizona, somewhere else) to get to the Akron office, so we've rented out some corporate housing." All I could think was, "Wow, the company's springing for a bachelor pad." And I couldn't help but laugh. Who wouldn't find that funny?
Speaking of bachelors, what does a girl have to do to find an eligible bachelor? I distrust guys at bars; sorry, but there's a stereotype about meeting guys in bars for a reason. I'm not going to a traditional college. I'm in "adult" college, which means my classmates are 40+. Of course, now I'm going to school online, so that rules out real interactions with them anyway. Most of the guys in my class are married with kids anyway. I don't date guys I work with, unless I realize that the only reason I'm turning him down is because we work together. Even then I'm wary. Before y'all tell me to find a guy at church or a church function, please attend church or a church function. The guys at the church functions I go to are loserific (yes, that's a word) or taken. Mainly loserific. The first really eligible guy that came to one of the "functions" I put together is now one of my best friends and married. So I got a friend, that's good. As to church, believe me, I scope out the guys. I'm not quite sure how God feels about the whole thing, but He shouldn't have made them so good looking if He didn't want me to look. Most of the guys I see there are with girls. Plus, how do you pick up a guy at church? All I've got is "Good homily," "Music ministry was on fire tonight," and "How bout that second reading." Yeah, they don't work for me either. Really. What's a girl gotta do to get a guy?
Move to Alaska?
