Deviant Dance Party 1/9/16

People don’t like dealing with negativity when it comes to something they are truly putting their heart and soul into. I appreciate that. When it comes money, however, criticism is warranted as a general review of a service. My opinion of Deviant Dance Party is mostly negative.

I do like that there is a further extension of the spooky scene and I did like that I encountered so many people I know or have met. In fact, there were even more there than I could easily speak to. Socializing was difficult because the acoustics were so awful. The volume was high throughout Soundstage. I would have happily moved farther away from the speakers for a respite from this, but the rear of the venue was unnecessarily closed off in order to promote an artificial sense of population density.

As to the life acts… Steve has great energy, but noisy noise is not so much my thing. To each their own, of course. I realize that I can’t necessarily critique something that other people seem to love, so I can let that go even if it something that drives me away. Without the ability to socialize, I would like to dance. To beeps without vocals I generally don’t want to because the music simply doesn’t affect me in the same way. I suppose I need a narrative.

Dalgali was present, which I was excited about, but from what I could tell they put on very little in the way of an actual show like a real Dalgali performance, as they mainly danced off to the side individually. Still good to have and entertaining to watch, but not at all the same experience as one of their more polished performances.

So..
Pro- Saw many people I knew. Additional life into the spooky scene.
Con- Poor acoustics(hard to socialize), poor music(hard to dance), subpar live performances(less than anticipated), artificially reduced space.
