Warmth

I had a surprisingly good time at tango last night. I felt like I have learned the ocho cortada and sanguchito well enough to employ them when dancing. I like the sanguchito in particular because it is a super sexy move which involves the lady/responder caressing the man’s/leader’s leg with hers as she steps through and around. I stayed for practice and danced a bit with Claire and Yana, but decided to leave after that because there was no one else to dance with and I wanted to get to Crossroads before it was too late.

Tonight I will be going to the milonga. A bit scared, but it is necessary.

Met(Danced with):

Yana[Remet]- Yana, like Annie, is a somewhat older, more experienced and demanding tango dancer. I learn much when I dance with her because she is quick to point out when I make mistakes, which is good, but at the same time I am happy there are other partners that go with the flow. Still, she is very helpful and encouraging in her way.

Maria- New dancer. Nice, pretty, long Victoria Lake style brown hair. Beginner class only.

Vicki- Short grey hair a bit like Carol on The Walking Dead. A little rough to dance with but I think that is a result of her own insecurities, which is fine. Provides a good exercise in learning how to send signals to newer, less certain dancers. Beginner class only.

Cindy- Chipper attitude. Asian appearance. Had glamorous sparkling silver heels.

Anya- Cordial with a flowing satin black dress. Pleasant to dance with but carried a palpable sadness about her which was very tango. She only danced for part of the intermediate class before stepping out for some reason.

Sheila- I accidently made a slightly racist blunder by thinking she introduced herself as ‘Shiva’ first, as she was of obviously indian descent. Demure attitude with a big warm smile. Insanely hot; I had a little trouble thinking straight when dancing with her. Showed up for the latter half of the advanced class and stayed for practica.

Went to Crossroads karaoke afterward to meet up with the peeps. Sang a Depeche Mode song. Next time I plan on doing ‘Come Undone’ by Duran Duran.

Met:
Sam- Jon and April’s doctor boss. Friendly, but seemed quite disappointed that I didn’t drink or play pool.

The pool was honestly more annoying than anything else because our conversations kept getting interrupted by people needing to take their turn, but to each their own. Sam had a nice lady friend with him whose name I kept forgetting and still don’t remember.
