Art!

In this post I am going to attempt to organize my current and planned artistic endeavors. Much of this is simply smoke in the breeze at this point, but it at least is the current manifestation of the thoughts of have in these areas.

Music

My keytar has been ordered, a Roland AX Shoulder Synthesizer. It will be granted a permanent place on my dining room table when it arrives. (When I am not eating or using the table for other purposes, obviously) I am highly excited about this and the potential that comes with it.

Fashion

I have made arrangements to begin working on fantasy and medieval style clothing starting at the end of next week using my Berlina sewing machine. Most of this is functional for the purposes of wearing at the Renaissance Festival and Darkon.

I will also be placing my first order with Deal Man this week and have been considering a number of affordable supplementary accessory purchases.

Painting

Half of my free time in the coming vacation will be dedicated to work on my miniatures, specifically those from the “Toughest Girls of the Galaxy” Kickstarter. I received them several months ago and it is time to give them life. This is something else I am understandably excited about. After I have put some meaningful work into my figures I will begin fielding them in functional games, but right now my priority is to paint them and work on my technique to create beauty.

Writing

This is all just conceptual for now, but I’ve been putting further thought into the idea of adult “choose-your-path” writing and plan to work out an outline soon. I will be going with the “Ironpunk”setting due to my love of the Roman Empire.

Glamour

I’ve been thinking more about glamour modeling and the art of crafting beautiful illusions. With the intent of any of my work being to avoid derivative art it is driving me in the general direction of male glamour modeling, either with myself or other men. In particular I think the genre could benefit from types slightly apart from the normal highly-muscled beefcake, although I understand quite well the allure of idealized hypersexuality.

I would also like to work more on my own body so that I could personally contribute, although that is an ongoing struggle. I feel like I have an attractive and reasonably well developed musculature on a good looking frame but for modeling purposes it certainly needs to be tweaked more before being actively put on display.

Although I have no interest to work on traditional female glamour photography due to oversaturation of the market I would like to look into more female budoir photography at some point for those who are interseted, although on a voluntary non-paid basis. I believe there needs to be more of this, as well.

Dancing

Tango will be picking up speed this week after a prolonged hiatus related to my surgery, as I attend class and practica this evening followed by a milonga tomorrow evening. I’ve been e-mailing with Jamie and have concluded that the real in to self-embetterment in this area lies in developing meaningful social connections at tango related events, particular the practicas and milongas. I would like to get to the point where the primary motivation to go to such an event is to see the friends I have made rather than for the dancing, which is secondary, just as I do when going to dance clubs such as Spellbound. We will see what comes from here, but I think do this is a practical and realistic approach.
