The Wife and the Boy and I had a great time over our weekend in Butte County: we enjoyed the thoroughly spring-y weather, Table Mountain exceeded expectations, our hosts made us feel very welcome, and we ate well.

Many who inhabit the coasts and mountains of California refer to the state's Great Central Valley with at least a hint of haughtiness, or even outright disdain (I've done so in this very journal).
