He started when the blankets hit him, then frowned and tried to remember for a moment where he was even as his hand came up to smooth Sal's back.

"It's not time yet... is it?" he murmured with a sigh.

She shook her head mutely and snuggled closer. "No. No matter what that damn lamp thinks, it's not."

She'd been improving steadily over the past few days; smiling more and generally being more jovial. Every interaction, from the public to the intimate, was becoming less about trying to escape and more about spending time with the people involved, with honest happy emotions fueling it.

So there was nothing emotionally woeful keeping Sal in bed.

She was just tired. With her emotional renewal there came an almost draining tiredness. Her unborn child seemed to be draining all her physical energy.

Sal had no problem with this so long as certain blue people - and lamps - would let her sleep.

Kurt sighed again and rested his cheek on her hair, his mind drifting back toward dreams as he murmured, "Curtains, close."

He was utterly relaxed, his mind floating in a peaceful dream and feeling as light as his body did right now.

She yawned again, scratching an itchy spot on her hip lazily. "...wonder if th' kids're okay..."

It was a fleeting thought before she too fell back to sleep.

"You dare laugh at the Amazing Nightcrawler?" He scowled in very convincing displeasure.

The laughter didn't cease. "Yeah," she managed to squeak out before hiding under the blankets and giggling.

"Feel my wrath!" He bit back his grin and jabbed her gently in the ribs with the tip of his tail, knowing very well that it was going to get it pulled.

She was laughing outright now and skillfully dodged subsequent jabs before reaching forward and yanking hard on his tail.

"Keep that t' yerself," she said with a grin, eyes sparkling.

"I saw it." He swam to the edge and rose from the water, then shook vigorously and used his hands to press water from his hair and fur before walking over to reach over her head and grab the blue delft bottle of shampoo. "I've been vatching for it."

She moved the water tap as far to the left - the hot side - as it would go and stepped under it, sighing.

Some days a girl just needed to wash her hair.

"You better be after sharin' that," Sal said, turning around to face him.

He chuckled as the tap squeaked at her indignantly, then gently pulled her out from under the water and turned her back to him before starting to gently wash her hair for her.

Sal looked one way down the hall, and then down the other way. She was certain the children would have been in their room, but they weren't. However, given where they were she knew they were in no imminent danger. Just misplaced.

"Hmm." She put her hands on her hips and looked around. "Now what?"

Kurt scratched his head and wondered at the sudden absence of helpful furniture, then blinked and looked toward the window as a squeal went past outside.

She walked to the window and smirked. "They're... outside." She shook her head. "How come we didn't realize that 'til now?"

"NO!" Stephan giggled from Joy's arms. "WE jumped!"

Kurt crawled up to the window and gave Sal a peck, then yelped as a small water bubble hit the wall above them and drenched him. "You saw that coming?!?"

"Yes," Sal said with a grin. "I noticed. But no, I didn't see the..." She snickered as she looked at her now-wet husband.

"I still says ye deserved it," she said, chuckling.
