She'd been improving steadily over the past few days; smiling more and generally being more jovial. Every interaction, from the public to the intimate, was becoming less about trying to escape and more about spending time with the people involved, with honest happy emotions fueling it.
So there was nothing emotionally woeful keeping Sal in bed.
She was just tired. With her emotional renewal there came an almost draining tiredness. Her unborn child seemed to be draining all her physical energy.
Sal had no problem with this so long as certain blue people - and lamps - would let her sleep.
