my job sucks
I work in a coffee shop. I hate it. these are the things i hate in particular about my job:
1) when customers ask for a frappacino, a venti, a tall, a macha green tea or anything else thats from STARBUCKS! were not starbucks! If we were, the sign would say it!
1a)when they use starbucks terms, but they get them wrong. ie: "i would like a tall latte." for starbucks, tall is the smallest size. Invariably these people really want large, and when they are given their small drinks, they blame me. I hate them.
2)When they order the: mocha caramel vanilla latte. Okay, what the hell does that mean?!?! which one do you want?
this happened to me today:
customer: I'd like the mocha caramel latte.
me: okay. so we have the mocha latte and the caramel latte. which one would you like?
customer: whats the difference?
me: sigh. well, one has mocha, and the other has caramel. (i promise, i wasnt nearly as bitchy as this sounds. i desperately wanted to be, but i wasnt.)
customer : well, thats okay then, can i just get the mocha vanilla?
me: (imagining myself playing in traffic.)Well, actually, there's the mocha latte and the vanilla latte. which one would you prefer?
customer: whichever! I don't care!
3)the fact that even though this job is something i should be able to do in my sleep, i am literally about to be fired. I can't sleep right now because i am afraid of what my boss is going to tell me. I honestly think i'm going to be fired. This has NEVER happened to me before.
im scared. And i'm resentful. and i'm sad.
