Air, Lunch and Sunrise:
Part 1 | Part 2

----------

By the time she's graduated high school Katara can completely control water. She can move it any way she likes, turn it in to vapour, freeze it so that it becomes ice, and she knows she's not the only one who can do something special.

At the orphanage she volunteers at, she saw a twelve year-old boy use the air to propel himself into a tree when he was playing hide-and-seek with the other children. The other day, when Sokka and herself had gone to the store to get groceries for Gran-Gran, she saw some girl run in to an alley. When the people chasing (who looked suspiciously like the F.B.I.) ran in after her, she was gone. Katara knows she wasn't seeing things when the girl waved her hand and one of the walls opened up, allowing her through, and then closed as if nothing happened.

But Katara doesn't realize exactly how many others there are until she meets Her. Molly is eight years-old, has the most adorable smile, and the ability to find anybody, anywhere, in the entire world. She knows this because Molly came to her, along with a man named Dr. Mohinder Suresh, and told her, showed her, as if they had to prove the truth of their words. They hadn't needed to though, because Katara had believed them the moment she saw them at her door.

Dr. Suresh had only wanted to talk to her, but Katara knew, just as she had known eleven years ago that her brother hadn't really been the one to save her life, that she would never be able to leave it at just a simple meeting. A couple of questions.

She left the letter on the kitchen counter, right next to an empty bowl and her brother's favourite cereal. By the time Sokka woke up the next morning and found the letter, Katara was watching the sunrise a state over, sitting in the back seat of an old Volvo.

AN: Thus ends the 'Air, Lunch, and Sunrise' series. I hope everyone enjoyed my little experiment. I'll be expanding on this a little more later, but for now, that's all she wrote.

And remember: Liked it? Loved it? Loathed it? Leave a comment and let me know.
