Had a lovely time with family yesterday. Grandchildren are a blessing, mostly because at the end of the day you can give them back.

The kids should be in the motel around the corner. At 8 last night they were in K Falls. don't know why they came up the east side.

Waiting for them to rouse and then we can start the party!

Expecting family for the weekend. That means I have to CLEAN, or at least wash the floor. And I have to refill the pantry and fridge. Two growing grandsons, 8 & 14, who play hockey and are apparently bottomless pits in the food department. Off to the grocery store. and Home Despot to investigate air conditioners. Typical. T, BBE, and I met with BBJ and his lovely spouse at the Resort for dinner. The food was excellent if overpriced--but T is so sensitive to salt I doubt he'll ever enjoy a meal out again--and the conversation... wacky, brilliant, poignant and too short lived. I'm here! Had a delayed take off because of high winds and thunderstorms--I think around Chicago but might have been around DC. 1.5 hour delay, but only an hour late landing. Lots and lots of very dry land below us, I could see rough outlines of fields but not a trace of green until east of the Mississippi. Then there was this one thunderhead ( Read more... )
