I'm here! Had a delayed take off because of high winds and thunderstorms--I think around Chicago but might have been around DC. 1.5 hour delay, but only an hour late landing. Lots and lots of very dry land below us, I could see rough outlines of fields but not a trace of green until east of the Mississippi. Then there was this one thunderhead! We were flying at 35000 feet and this thing towered above and below us. Not a lot of shifting of shapes within but seemed to be sucking smaller clouds in. On the back side a long, long, long anvil shaped cloud, the kind that can spawn tornadoes.
Settling in to a new time schedule and sister's limitations. Growing grocery shopping with b-i-l later today. Maybe a walk but it's already 80 with 80% humidity. There's a reason I live in western Oregon.
