Hockey players are not like other athletes.

Chicago defenceman Duncan Keith was hit in the mouth with a puck early during today's game (which led to a goal, to add insult to injury), and lost seven teeth. He returned to the game after several minutes.

SEVEN TEETH!

They're crazy, man...

...and the Sharks are out.

Pardon me while I try to curb the maniacal laughter. Mmm... schadenfreude.

Okay, now that that's done, I can be happy for whoever gets the Cup. All three teams that are left have Cup-winning former Ducks, so I've got somebody to root for no matter what.

Wow! The Flyers are moving on the the conference finals!

First time since 1975, and only the third time in NHL history that a team came back from 0-3 in a series to win a Game 7.

WTF happened to the Bruins?

Some historic hockey today! Great job, Flyers! Only the 6th NHL team ever to come back from 0-3 to force a Game 7! Can't wait to see it!

Can anyone explain to me how it makes sense that the game between Boston and Carolina starts at 5 pacific, while the game between Anaheim and Detroit starts at 4 pacific? How does this make sense? Surely the two more easterly teams would prefer an earlier start, and I sure as hell would like a game that starts at 5, when I won't be stuck at work ( Read more... )
