The first post of a new year!

Jan 01, 2008 00:27

Tonight was probably the first time ever where at the last FHE of the year we didn't write new year's resolutions.  Instead we had a five minute lesson on prayer and ate apple-ca-dapple crisp (made by my niece with some help) with ice cream.  There are definitely benefits to having small children around.  Especially when they like being in charge of refreshments.  Short lesson and a delicious treat...

So now I begin the great internal debate: to write some resolutions now, or rationalize away any guilt I may feel by claiming I've internalized them already...

Well, I suppose we can always start with some obvious ones to get the creativeness flowing.
  1. Find an internship for the summer.
  2. Decide what I want to do with my life.
  3. Make my play time more... productive, for lack of a better word.  Instead of doing pointless things like watch TV or play solitaire for hours on end, go ambush some people and make them play games with me.  Except... without them realizing I'm making them play with me.  That wouldn't be any fun if they weren't enjoying it.  Or I suppose I could read too, although that's always a risky business when I still have homework/studying to do.
  4. Beat my current high score in Ochem.  (High score=final grade)  If I have to take two semesters of it, I might as well try to improve.
  5. Write in my personal journal more.
  6. Eat healthier dinners... and more often than once a week.
  7. Fall asleep in class less often.
That's enough, I think... That's probably already overly ambitious.  At least #3 will be fun.  I hope.

Now, on to a more exciting list.

Games I have won while at home this Christmas break:
  1. Bang!
  2. Boggle
  3. Clue Master Detective
  4. Scrabble
Note that I won all four of these in the past 3 days.

Games we have played so far in the past 10 days:
  1. Bohnanza
  2. Puerto Rico
  3. Cities and Knights of Catan
  4. Chrononauts
  5. Flux
  6. And It Came to Pass (actually, I might have won this one once, but I don't really count it because you can stop whenever you want to...)
  7. Carcassonne
  8. Ticket to Ride
  9. Killer Bunnies
  10. Bang!
  11. Clue Master Detective
  12. Scrabble
  13. Boggle
  14. various other games that don't really count, like Candyland
It's a good thing I love my family or I might get annoyed that I never seem to win.  But honestly, I'm just enjoying having lots of people willing to play fun complicated games every night, so it's okay that I can't ever keep a bunny alive or whatever.

family, fhe, games, resolutions
