I went to the Singapore Zoological Gardens today for the weekly photography lesson. :3 I spent two hours walking / photographing and half an hour eating kaya toast at the cafe. XD
Photos taken using a Nikon D2X and 28-300mm lens.
The parrots just after the entrance greet every visitor to the zoo! You can actually pay to hold the parrots and get a photo taken.
This zebra seems unbothered by the colourful boken dancing around.
Different zebra, as you can tell by its stripes.
The otters are my favourite animal, other than the white tigers. I didn't get to see the tigers today 'cos I went in the wrong direction and was too lazy to circle back. Otters make the most adorable squeaking noises when they're clamouring to be fed!
Big deer that has a funny face shape. I saw a mousedeer roaming around later on, but didn't manage to get a photo of it.
Poor lioness got hurt. I didn't realise until I went home and viewed the photos on my computer.
The Fragile Forest (so named because it was meant to have insect species) was devoid of butterflies. I only saw three individuals, which is a far cry from when I went last year.
But it did have birds, lemurs, sloths and bats. o__________o Perhaps the birds ate all the butterflies. Here a sloth and a fruit bat share some jackfruit.
One of the bats stuck its tongue out at me (actually many animals stuck their tongues out~ So cute!).
Lemur #1. I don't know what species of lemur it is, unfortunately. Let's call it the Startled Lemur.
See, another tongue! This is Lemur #2, which I call the Yoda Lemur.
Another of Mr. Yoda here. I love the large gold eyes lemurs have.
And this is Lemur #3! I like to think of him as the Panda Lemur. No, he isn't blind in one eye, but winking. ;D
See! Mr. Panda here was actually really tame, so I guess it's used to humans.
Annnd even closer~
I also yawned after it did. It seems yawns are contagious even cross-species.
This vine caught my eye because the wee hairs on it were backlit really prettily.
And this was when the camera was killing me and I gave up seeing the white tigers. >:
