I went to the Singapore Zoological Gardens today for the weekly photography lesson. :3 I spent two hours walking / photographing and half an hour eating kaya toast at the cafe. XD

Photos taken using a Nikon D2X and 28-300mm lens.

Perhaps, but then the fur around her muzzle would also be bloody.

What's the aperture like on your lenses? Does it go to f1.8?

Nope! It's a superzoom with a the really wide range, so it has a variable aperture of f4.5-5.6. I have another lens which also falls in the superzoom category (70-300 and 80-400, also with variable aperature) but the 28-300 covers its range, so that should be a good indicator of exactly how long its zoom is. XD The only telephoto lens I have with fixed zoom is the 70-200 f2.8, 300 f2.8 and 500 f4.

Ooh I see. I figured it'd be telephoto (how else are you gonna capture the faces of animals 20m away??), but the depth here looks pretty impressive, which is why I asked if it was 1.8-ish.

Yeah, it's quite fun to see friendships that would be unlikely in the wild! And sharng food, at that!
