Weight training, day 1

well today was day one of my new weight training... uh, regime. I got this book "The Body Sculpting Bible for Women" and have been reading through the first few chapters over the past week, finally got to the meat of the book; the exercise. I've never lifted weights, had the attentions of a personal trainer, or anyone to show me how to use freeweights and what the hell all those weird exercises do and how they're supposed to be performed, so this is an entirely new experience for me.

My muscles were actually shaking after the "beginner's routine", using 3lb dumbells or no weight at all! I couldn't believe it! I thought I was a relatively fit individual but apparently I have no muscles to speak of. That's when my dad pointed out that with a 3lb weight, 15 reps, and 4 sets spaced out for each "modified compound superset", so I lifted 180lbs with those muscle groups. I guess I should be shakey.

Tomorrow morning will be "abs and cardio". crunches etc. and running
