JUMP's Talk Yabu x Yamada 2011.03

May 09, 2011 02:30

An interview with Yabu and Yamada. The conversations really heats up when the boys talk about their beloved soccer.

Theme one, by Chinen. "What kind of otaku are you?"

It's a good thing to be really engrossed with something.

Yabu: What kind of otaku is Yamada?
Yamada: I guess I'm an otaku for the Korean language right now. I always carry at least 3 related books with me.
Yabu: You memorize it all on your own? That's so cool.
Yamada: It's strange, I have been studying all this time (laughs).
Yabu: To have something that you're so much engrossed with is a really good thing.
Yamada: One day JUMP will do concerts on Korea, I will teach everyone then~♪
Yabu: If it's something you like doing yourself, you can use it as a weapon during your job.
Yamada: Right! This time, during concerts, I can already great people in Korean! Then, what about Yabu-kun? What kind of otaku are you?
Yabu: I guess lately I'm an otaku for bath's~ (Translators note: ... Really now?)
Yamada: Oh, that's nice~ What do you do? (Translators note: I had no idea how to properly translate it, but he wants to know how Yabu shows his commitment to... taking baths. Yeah.)
Yabu: I will take a bath whenever I can. Also, I will clean my own bathtub. I get a special feeling in a clean brushed bathtub. You can try it next time?
Yamada: Is that feeling really that good? Okay, I'll try it out tomorrow.
Yabu: It's also good to listen to music while you're soaking in warm water. While listening to music I become all laid-back and relaxed.
Yamada: That's nice~ I also love relaxed soaking in my bath.
Yabu: Taking a bath is the best ♥Yamada: Yuto's theme is, "about soccer."
Yabu: Yamada, when did you start with soccer?
Yamada: My third year in elementary school. What about Yabu-kun?
Yabu: When I was in elementary school, I used to play for the school's team. Ever since then, I started loving playing the game myself too.Yamada: Me too! At that time I went to Hawaii and I saw two people playing soccer, I wanted it too.
Yabu: While everyone went shopping, I was really sweating on our lawn (laughs).
Yamada: That's so much fun~
Interviewer: What's so good about soccer?
Yabu: You learn the importance of being in a group. If one person is missing, everyone is missing, I think it's a natural way of making friends.
Yamada: Such a lesson is even helping me with the job I have now.
Yabu: Because it's both working in groups anyway (laughs). Also, the excitement you feel while watching a game is greater than anything! During last year's World Cup I was on fire. The entire world turned around 1 ball!
Yamada: I was also on fire~ Last year, the performances of the Japanese team were wonderful, I was really on fire.
Yabu: They used to have a really bad reputation, so in the end the results they made were really amazing.
Yamada: Speaking about it, could we make our own team?
Yabu: That's a good idea~ What members were you thinking off?
Yamada: Within Johnny's there are a lot of senpai that like soccer, everyone should gather...
Yabu: Wouldn't the feeling of playing against your senpai feel a bit weird? (laughs)
Yamada: No, there is no hierarchical relationship in sport! ...Or at least I hope (laughs).

Being the extremely lonely YabuDa shipper that I am I wanted to translate this article ever since I laid my eyes on it. However, I didn't had the time for it when it came out and I figured that someone else would do it.

... No one did it 8D So, because I had some spare time and it's Yamada's birthday today; here you go fandom!

I have to say I am never gonna raise my children with Yabu's input because they don't need to be turned into avid bath lovers >:| But other than that I really enjoyed translating this. Yabu and Yamada have great chemistry while talking and it was really nice to read. I love boys who love soccer /sigh ♥ (even though my favorite team lost today >_>;;)
