Alice in Wonderland, Carnegie Deli, and Arashi! :)

Mar 06, 2010 02:04

Tonight, mishiness , amefurift and momo@aibaka and I went to go see Alice in Wonderland.

Awesome movie, and a DEFINITE MUST SEE in 3D!! Seriously, I felt like the technology for 3D in the movies has increased in leaps and bounds. The 3D usage felt seamless - you didn't really notice it until you were in it, and then, you were a part of it.

One important note: The Cheshire Cat ROCKS. *.*

So afterwards. we were hungry and decided that we would go to Carnegie Deli to eat for three reasons.

1) Pastrami sandwiches! BEST in NYC. :D

2) It was open late, and we had just gotten out of the theatre at 10:30 PM or so, and this was a good place to eat.

3) Supposedly, Arashi had their picture taken 10 years ago, when they first debuted and came to NYC to film a variety show, and this picture was hanging up in Carnegie Deli.

Momo and I shared a pastrami and corned beef sandwich (aka, The Woody Allen >.>)

It was HUGE! :O Good thing we shared it! I still ended up taking more than 1/2 of it home because I'd eaten too much popcorn during the movie. XD
So, amefurift had gone there previously to look for it, but hadn't found it. So she thought that maybe they did have it, but perhaps it was stored away somewhere. Once we were finished eating, we decided to scour the walls and see if we could find the photo.

It seriously felt like we were seeking the holy grail, or something. XD

You see, we discovered that amefurift hadn't realized that Carnegie Deli consisted of two eating areas. She'd only checked the one. >.>

SO! Three of us, amefurift , momo, and I went into this second room and began to scour the walls in the hopes of finding this elusive picture. If you've ever been to Carnegie Deli, it is definitely crowded in the daytime. Luckily, at midnight, it's fairly empty. In fact, this second room was completely empty, and they were cleaning it. But we asked them if we could look. There was a balcony area, a bar, an alcove... no luck though! Despite all three of us looking, we couldn't find it.

I had started in the balcony area, in the back of the room, and was working my way up. When I got closer to the entrance, I looked at this one group photo and when my brain finally registered that I was looking at a younger version of Jun and Ohno, I shrieked, "I FOUND IT!!" XD

Yeah, I know... TOTALLY missed Sho and Aiba who are standing in the front. XD

Thankfully, no one was back there but the three of us. mishiness was sweet because she stayed with our coats and things at our table in the other room. :D

Eventually, we moved all our stuff in the second room and began to take pictures.

I took this video:

Then, we all started taking various pictures. XD I was in the "Making of..." mood, and took pictures of momo taking pictures of both mishiness and amefurift pointing at Jun. :D

mishiness decided to make a "Making of, the making of" picture. XD So yeah, she's taking a picture of me, taking a picture of momo, who's taking a picture of mishiness . Lost yet? :D

Then, I took a picture of both momo and mishiness as they were taking a picture of amefurift

And here is the original picture of amefurift that was being taken. :D

mishiness took some awesome pictures as well, but I think she's still heading home and hasn't arrived yet. XD Once she gets home and ULs her stuff, I'll edit the post and add the new pictures, including one of me pointing at Ohno. ^.^v

EDIT: She came home and uploaded them. :D

So here I am, pointing at Ohno

And here is momo pointing at Aiba. She actually didn't want to take this picture, but we forced her to. XD

And mishiness  also got a shot, pointing at Jun

So we've decided that we're all gonna write to their radio programs. I'm writing to Arashi Discovery, mishiness will write to JunStyle, and momo will write to Recomen. :) We're going to forward the pictures to them and see if any of them comment on them. :D I hope they do!

I still can't believe I found that picture. XD
