tiny strawberry of my desiring

Apr 05, 2010 15:30

This year's big seed experiment is alpine strawberries. Assuming I can get them to germinate and that at least some of them survive the various dreaded threats to seedlings, they are supposed to be winter hardy and should have a reasonably good crop the second year. I had to try growing lupine from seed three different years before I got any to survive the summer, though, so am trying to have other seedlings around to raise my spirits in case of total strawberry failure.

The seeds are just so very tiny. You've seen a strawberry seed. How could that possibly turn into a whole plant? It doesn't seem plausible.
