Now that I have proof of concept on a smaller (1:30) scale, I'm considering an attempt to lay out a Viking circular fortress full-scale, which means a project nearly 500 Roman feet in diameter.

How on earth does one present a project of that size in an A&S display?

Am currently making measuring strings in the 3 Viking metrologies discussed by Ulf Alström: Ravning Enge (29.6 cm/unit), Trelleborg (29.33 cm/unit) and Norway (31.63 cm/unit). Am making them each 4 units long, as the Vikings seem to have used these units frequently in groups of 3, 4, 6, and 12 (the Vikings seem to have functioned in base-12). ( Read more... )
