So I have new babies!
I wanted some kittens to add some life to my group of old boys (its amazing what adding kittens can do to the dynamic within a group; its far more natural for them) I went searching for some rescue kittens originally, but typically, you can never find them when you actually WANT them! I emailed a local breeder friend of mine asking if she knew of any rescue kittens around, and she said she didn't, BUT she had some kittens herself that needed homes.
I like to support good breeders who breed healthy, long lived rats, and the last rat I got from her, Zero, was my longest lived rat ever. She specialises in agoutis, which are my favourite variety, along with blacks.
So when she said she had a black AND an agouti kitten, ready after xmas, I said I'd take them!
I picked them both up on sunday, and they're still settling in right now. They both had a few little scuffles with some of my more dominant boys, but nothing serious, just them learning their place as they were both being quite pushy! The next morning, they were all huddled up in the chinchilla ball together, so I think things will all be ok in a few more days.
The Agouti is Bertie. The Black one is Reggie. If you get it, LOVE.
Bertie is, fittingly, a bit silly and happy-go-lucky, typical kitten.
Reggie is more reserved. He's a bit older, and seems to be a bit more nervous right now, whereas Bertie is pretty bomb-proof!
Mum, we were not consulted on these 'babies'.
