Since my last update, I've sadly lost my little Carl. It wasn't totally unexpected, as he'd not been well for some time, but it was still quite upsetting. I spent a long time nursing him through his illness and had thusly become a lot closer to him, particularly with him being a lone rat in his last weeks.

Since my last update, I've also acquired two new boys.
They both belonged to a work friend of my brother's, who had gotten them for her daughter. Now, almost 2 years on, the daughter had lost interest and wasn't putting the work into caring for them, leaving her mother to do it all. And her mother didn't have the time to give them the attention they deserved. She was very attached to them, and said she wouldn't have just given them to anyone but knew they'd have a good life with me.
They're both beautiful boys, 2 in march, lovely and cuddly and squishy. I kept the names they came with, due to their age and how attached their past owner was to them.
The black variegated is Herbie, and the agouti capped is Kitt, both named after famous cars :P
They also went in with my big group straight away, after only one meeting, and have been happily settled in since. It always amazes me how accepting my group of boys is. I hear of people having to spend weeks and weeks on intros with adult bucks, and mine are always a matter of days. Im sure it comes with the rats having faith in their alpha, ie, me. I don't stress over intros, so they don't either, and everything runs a lot more smoothly.
Having said that, Gordon was booked in today to be neutered on the 17th. He's been quite a bully over the last few weeks to pretty much everyone. Its a classic hormone surge, and his behaviour has resulted in Ace being wounded. It wasn't serious, though it bled a LOT, but he's causing everyone in the group to be anxious and scared, including the new babies who really don't need to grow up into timid rats.
Gordon is having to live alone right now as he just isn't good for that group at the moment. Hopefully, once he's neutered, he can go back in.

So pics! This time, taken on the bed in my room, as its chilly outside.
