Promotion!
Julien and I have both been anxiously awaiting our focal results. Poor Julien is still in the dark, but Jeff took me aside Friday morning to give me the good news -- I finally got my long-awaited promotion! This was not really unexpected, but given that it was not really unexpected the past two years (and failed to materialize) there was always some risk. So, it's good to have that in the bag. The big sweetener is that I got an enormous raise compared to what I was expecting (or even hoped for). So rah rah rah!
And as promised to myself, since I did get a big raise, we've decided to hire a maid. I realize how ridiculous this seems, but I've arrived at the conclusion that it's even more ridiculous to principle myself out of any free time. We'll both have more fun if I'm not spending my time cleaning, and I'll be able to focus more on important things like French class and my secret dream to start taking classes at OBT (Oregon Ballet Theater) once a week. We've booked an appointment for an initial assessment next week...
Finally, tonight is my bachelorette party! I'll give you an update tomorrow if I'm in any condition to do so :)
