The End is Nigh

Does this year seem like it was exceptionally high in show demises to anyone else?

There was The OC, Gilmore Girls, 7th Heaven, and of course, our own Veronica Mars says farewell tonight.

And then all the ones that didn’t even get a full season - Drive, The Black Donnellys, Jericho, The Nine, Studio 60, Smith (anybody even remember this one? I’d forgotten till I was rereading some (never posted) reviews I’d written on Premiere Week), and in that same vein - Kidnapped, Standoff, Justice, Vanished, Runaway, … some of the premises looked more-or-less interesting, I might have even watched an episode or more and then *poof!* …goodbye! (Oh yeah, and there was that one with Taye Diggs in a Groundhog-Day repeat of the worse day of his life or something…Did that one even last as long as Drive?)

I know that freshman shows have a high mortality rate, but it justs seems there were a LOT of them, especially adding in the established shows that signed off this season as well.

Maybe it was just this year there were a lot of shows that either a) I was watching/more aware of their cancellation b) friends and flisters were fans of and thus vocal about their ending.

Speaking of which, I am still trying to decide how I feel about Veronica Mars, the cancelation, et all. I'm sure I'll post sometime after the (series!) finale.

... Hey, anybody up for one of those old-school live AIM chat sessions, like we did in the first season to voice our squee and avoid congestion at TWoP?

i watch too much blahblahbleebloo, tv, finale week
