My friend, Chris, posted this on Facebook today:
After a bird gets sucked into a jet engine, the residue that remains is called snarge.
The Smithsonian has a snarge lab that can tell what kind of bird it was.
The test only requires a small sample.
The lab technicians enjoy the rest with crackers.

And I thought the no-see-um season in New England was bad. Forget the whiny Egyptians with their paltry plague of locusts !

Present Flight Attendant Speech: "In case there is a loss in cabin pressure, yellow oxygen masks will deploy from the ceiling compartment located above you. To secure, pull the mask towards you, secure the elastic strap to your head, and fasten it so it covers your mouth and nose. Breathe normally. Even if the bag does not inflate, please keep in mind that oxygen is flowing. Please make sure to secure your own mask before assisting others." (I love how they try to get you to believe that there's no possible way your particular mask is broken.)

Bug-Amended Version: "After securing your masks, press the button to open the compartment under your seat. Please put on your own enclosed football helmet with facemask before assisting others. Roman shields are available for an additional charge."
