The Art Crimes director glared nastily at Neal, then swept a distrustful and dismissive look over the rest of Peter's usual team. "I'd prefer to discuss this...privately. In your office, perhaps."

Jones merely raised his eyebrows, but Diana instantly bristled.

"Your felon can bring coffee."

Peter shot everyone a quelling look, blended with apology, and led the man out. To Diana's surprise, Neal jumped up to open the door for them.

She tracked him down in the break area, discreetly fiddling with something by the open fridge.

"Are you poisoning his coffee?" she asked. "I might be okay with it if you are."

Neal started to give her his most innocent look, then paused, switching it to a conspiratorial grin. He beckoned her closer, spreading his fingers slightly to reveal several colorful slivers of plastic.

"Picked his pocket and got his debit and credit cards," he said. He held up a hand quickly to forestall any protests. "I'm not stealing them. He'll never know about it. But there are some pretty powerful magnets in a fridge door."

Diana thought about this for a few moments, then leaned in to whisper.

"See if you can get his building ID, too."
